Dexys Midnight Runners have confirmed a new deal with Heavenly Recordings and have also revealed plans for a UK and Ireland tour scheduled for later this year.
The upcoming concerts will begin in the autumn and mark the first time Kevin Rowland and the band have toured using the Dexys Midnight Runners name since 2003, when they last performed under that title at London’s Southbank Centre.
Originally formed in Birmingham in 1978 and widely recognised for their number one singles ‘Geno’ and ‘Come on Eileen’, the group have performed in recent years simply as ‘Dexys’. During that period they released their comeback record ‘One Day I’m Going To Soar’ in 2012 and later followed it with ‘The Feminine Divine’ in 2023.
Now returning to the Dexys Midnight Runners name, they will begin the tour with an opening night at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on October 20.
After the opening date, the tour continues with stops in Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Manchester, London and Cambridge across October, before moving into November with shows in Brighton, Dublin, Belfast and Bristol.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (March 27) at 10am local time. Visit here for tickets.

Alongside the tour announcement, Dexys Midnight Runners also confirmed their signing with Heavenly Recordings. Current artists on the roster alongside Dexys Midnight Runners include Kneecap, Confidence Man, Baxter Dury and Katy J Pearson among others.
There has been no official word yet on whether new material is currently being recorded. Alongside preparing for the tour, Rowland has recently published his autobiography, Bless Me Father.
Prior to the release of their most recent album, 2023’s ‘The Feminine Divine’, the band also collaborated with Primal Scream on a song supporting railway workers.
More recently, Rowland also appeared in NME’s Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?! feature, where he reflected on past comments in which he described David Bowie as “full of shit” and “a bad copy of Bryan Ferry”.
