A$AP Rocky, Westside Gunn and the Gorillaz recently got in the lab together and “of course” they cooked something up.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday (November 17), Gunn shared a few photos from the studio session and was incredulous at the fact he and Rocky got to collaborate with the Gorillaz.
“In the studio all night with the Brodie @asvpxrocky. I still can’t believe he had me in there with the @gorillaz and don’t ask if we cooked something….. OFCOURSE WE DID,” he wrote. “#STYLECHAMPS #SUPERFLYGOD #GXFR #ICON #ANDTHENYOUPRAYFORME #ART #CULTURE #FASHION”

Westside Gunn is gearing up for a big 2024, and recently revealed that he will once again team up with brother Conway The Machine and cousin Benny The Butcher for a sequel to their 2019 release What Would Chine Gun Do (WWCD).
“’24 is gonna be probably one of the biggest years for Griselda,” he said in an interview on The Complex Sneakers Show in October. “For the last couple years, Conway been doing his thing and he has a label, Drum Work, that he’s pushing, he’s the boss of; and Benny has BSF and he’s the the boss of his label. But we are family.
“There’s nothing stronger than us three together. We gotta come together and give people What Would Chine Gun Do 2 — we have to for the culture.”
Gunn also made it clear in a recent Grammy.com interview that a joint album is on the way. “That’s coming in ’24,” he said. “You don’t even you got to ask twice. That’s already done.”
A$AP Rocky is also hard at work on his next album and he’s setting the expectations sky high heading into Don’t Be Dumb.
As the face of the Gucci Guilty fragrance, DAZED caught up with A$AP last month and he also dished on his upcoming experimental album, which he believes is his best work to date.
“I’ve been really experimenting as usual and what I like about this is it feels like my best work yet,” he said of the follow-up to TESTING. “I want to leave expectations wide and open. I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it how they do naturally.”
It remains to be seen when Don’t Be Dumb will ultimately arrive as the album remains without a release date heading into 2024.
Rocky’s last single landed in July with “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n).” He previously debuted some unreleased songs — including the Miguel and Thundercat-assisted “Same Problems” — during a performance as part of 2 Chainz’s Amazon Music Live concert series last December.
