Even global stars have their fangirl moments. In the latest episode of Instagram’s original series Close Friends Only, KATSEYE sat down with YouTuber Larray to talk about life on tour, creative influences and their upcoming EP WILD.
At the start of the episode, the members of KATSEYE and Larray arrive at a fully equipped music studio packed with instruments and recording gear. After getting comfortable on the couch and pouring tea, the conversation quickly turned into a mix of funny confessions and behind the scenes stories.
One of the standout moments came when the group recalled meeting Ariana Grande at the MTV Video Music Awards 2025.
“I actually started crying, and I never cry,” shared Sophia Laforteza. The singer admitted she was so overwhelmed meeting Grande that she started shaking, and the rest of the group had to calm her down. She also described Ariana as incredibly warm and supportive. “People always say never meet your idols, but when I met mine, she made me feel really seen.”
Grande was not the only major artist the group connected with recently. KATSEYE also crossed paths with Tyler, The Creator backstage at the Grammy Awards 2026 and received praise directly from him.
“Tyler, The Creator literally told us we were good,” said Lara Raj. “We were backstage walking around when he stepped out of his dressing room and told us, ‘You guys did so good.’”
“He really went out of his way to say it,” Laforteza added.
In a related Instagram Reel, the members also revealed some of the artists they would love to collaborate with in the future.
Daniela Avanzini named Bad Bunny as one of her dream collaborators, calling him “fire,” while also mentioning her admiration for Tyler, The Creator.
Raj shared that she would love to work with Pharrell Williams and Thundercat. Laforteza added Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga to her dream list.
“Benny Blanco,” Megan Skiendiel chimed in as another top choice.
