All Points East 2024 has announced an official afterparty to follow LCD Soundsystem‘s upcoming set at the festival. Find all the details below.
The NYC band are due to top the bill at Victoria Park in east London on Friday August 23, having previously headlined the event in 2018. Support will come from the likes of Pixies, The Kills, NewDad, Floating Points and Jockstrap.
Today (August 9), APE organisers have confirmed that LCD fans can keep the party going at Hackney’s iconic Moth Club – which is located just down the road from Victoria Park. The 150-capacity venue will host sets from Mermaid Chunky (live), Idjut Boys and DFADJAYs between 10pm and 3am.
All Points East ticketholders can access a pre-sale for the LCD afterparty from 6pm next Monday (August 12). The general sale will go live at the same time on Tuesday (13). Buy your ticket(s) here.
LCD Soundsystem’s Nick Millhiser has designed bespoke artwork for both the group’s APE headline gig and the afterparty. Check out the posts below.
DFA Records is the creation of Tim Goldsworthy, Jonathan Galkin and LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and was pivotal to the dance-rock explosion from New York at the turn of the century.
Mermaid Chunky are signed to the label, and opened for LCD at their Brixton Academy residency in 2022. Idjut Boys, meanwhile, have previously remixed Murphy and co’s track ‘Pow Pow’.
Speaking to NME recently, Mermaid Chunky’s Moina Moin explained: “We just randomly heard from James Murphy and it was really funny because we didn’t know who he was! He sent a really lovely, emotional email where he was like, ‘You put my belief back into music’. Then he asked us to support them at Brixton Academy’.”
You can find any remaining tickets for LCD Soundsystem at All Points East 2024 here.
Also headlining the 2024 festival are Loyle Carner, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Mitski and Kaytranada. Other artists on the line-up include Thundercat, Nas, Jai Paul, Phoenix, Gossip and Sleater-Kinney.
Additionally, All Points East is set to host Field Day 2024 in Victoria Park on Saturday August 24. Justice and PinkPantheress are scheduled to headline this year’s edition.
Earlier this summer, LCD Soundsystem played a set on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. In a five-star review of the show, NME wrote: “The packed-out Pyramid field hold each other tight and reach for the sky as LCD’s 10 song masterclass naturally ends with ‘All My Friends’.
“This song and this moment are the manifestation of Glastonbury at its best, the memories in the making and the good times still to come.”
