Carrie Underwood is said to be developing a new rock project with support from Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.
The country star has appeared with the rock icons several times over the years. Her latest guest appearance came on Saturday, 19 September 2026, when she joined them for Paradise City at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Posting photographs from the concert on Instagram, she wrote: “Yet another amazing show from Guns N’ Roses …this time in Atlanta at Truist Park!
“Thanks, Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash… and the whole crew for having us and for letting me try and keep up on stage! You are always so kind! Love you all forever!”
Carrie has recently surprised audiences with energetic versions of Guns N’ Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle, while also exploring nu metal through covers of popular songs by Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
According to TMZ: “Carrie has been working on new music, and it is nothing like what she is known for. We're told the singer is being mentored by the Guns N' Roses frontman as she dabbles in rock.”
Carrie has previously shared that she would be interested in experimenting with rock music.
Speaking to Audacy, she said: “You never really know with me. I never say never about anything. I feel like certain influences work their way into different songs and different moments, even if they’re not songs that I record.”
She continued: “I grew up listening to everything. I do have an affinity for rock music and metal, and I just love the energy more than anything. I love going to rock concerts because it feels like freedom to me.”
Carrie’s connection with Guns N’ Roses stretches back several years. She invited Axl to join her performance at Stagecoach in 2022 and later appeared with the Sweet Child O’ Mine musicians during their London concert that same year.
In 2024, Carrie collaborated with another rock group, Papa Roach, on the charity release Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark).
