Spiritbox have announced a charity raffle to support victims of the Los Angeles wildfires – find out more below.

This past weekend (January 18), the Canadian metal band took to social media to share that they’ve launched a charity raffle to “raise as much as possible to help” for those affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that swept across California earlier this month.

Since the wildfires began on January 7, over 150,000 residents of Los Angeles were forced to evacuate their homes. To date, 27 confirmed deaths have been reported, with over 20 people reported missing.

Spiritbox’s charity raffle is led by guitarist Mike Stringer, who wrote on social media: “Southern California has faced devastating wildfires over the past week and a half, and I want to not only donate, but try to raise as much as possible to help. Watching the destruction and its impact has been heartbreaking.”

Stringer adds that the wildfires have affected the band as well, with bassist Josh Gilbert losing his home in the catastrophe. The grand prize for the raffle include a collection of electric guitars, pedals and amps that Stringer used either on the road or in the studio.

Each entry into the raffle will cost USD$20. All proceeds will be directed to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery organisations – to find out more and enter the raffle, click here.

Spiritbox are next due to release the album ‘Tsunami Sea’ on March 7 via Pale Chord in partnership with Rise Records. You can pre-order it here. The band have also shared the haunting single ‘Perfect Soul’.

Spiritbox aren’t the only musicians to aid the affected communities in the aftermath of the fires. Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation have donated $2.5million to help to relief efforts for the Los Angeles wildfires. Paris Hilton also launched a fund for families displaced by the fires, pledging $100,000 and promised to match up to $100,000 in donations. Dave Grohl also spent his birthday making meals for families that had been effected.

American-Mexican band Fuerza Regida have rented out an entire hotel for a week to shelter 50 families fleeing the wildfires.

Charli XCX called for brands gifting her clothes to “give [them] to people who really truly need it.” She then shared details of a clothing drive organised by stylist Lana Jay Lackey, urging others to join her in donating.

Members of the LA music community have also spoken to NME about being hit hard, with a number of venues, studios and artists being affected by the blaze.

A slew of A-list musicians including Olivia RodrigoBillie EilishStevie NicksGreen Day and more will be performing at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles later this month – check out the current line-up here.
