Kendrick Lamar once attended UCLA to study psychology, according to the college.

Unbeknownst to many fans until now, the Compton rap star attended the university in 2022, with photos of Kendrick in a lecture posted online by a former classmate on Wednesday (February 26).

In the pictures, Lamar can be seen listening attentively and typing on his phone while in class.

The classmate also commented: “He was incredibly kind and humble. I didn’t realize who he was at that time — I just saw people asking for photos, and I took some too. It wasn’t until later that someone told me who he was.”

After the images went viral on social media, UCLA confirmed Kendrick’s enrollment, writing on X: “Photos from 2022, but the lesson stays the same—UCLA is where you level up.”

Kendrick himself has yet to comment on the pictures or reveal whether he graduated from the college.

The pictures come as the pgLang co-founder continues to break new records and enjoy a run of unparalleled commercial success.

This week, he replaced himself at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 as his SZA collaboration “Luther” knocked “Not Like Us” from the top spot.

“Not Like Us” had returned to the summit of the chart after Kendrick’s performance at the Super Bowl, with “Luther” earning the Compton native his sixth number one single (and fourth in less than 12 months).

Lamar also currently occupies four of the top five slots in the top 10 as “Not Like Us” sits in second place, followed by “TV Off” in fourth and “Squabble Up” in fifth.

Blige50 Cent and Eminem.

The Apple Music-sponsored show brought in a whopping 133.5 million viewers, making it the most watched Super Bowl performance (and TV event, period) of all time.

Michael Jackson previously held the record with 133 million viewers with his iconic 1993 Super Bowl show.

During the show, Kendrick performed 11 of his biggest hits including Drake diss tracks “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us,” as well as SZA collaborations “Luther” and “All The Stars.”

The show also featured surprise appearances from Mustard and Samule L. Jackson, plus a much-discussed cameo from Drake’s former girlfriend Serena Williams, who Crip Walked during Kendrick’s rendition of “Not Like Us.”
