Lil Yachty made sure to take time to give Tyler, The Creator his flowers while performing his opening set on a recent stop of Tyler’s Chromakopia World Tour.

“I want to show my appreciation to my big brother Tyler, The Creator,” he said in a clip from a show on Thursday (February 27). “That man’s a muthafuckin genius. That man has paved the way.

“We might never get another creative like that again for the next 20, 30, 40, 50, 100 years. So I just make sure I give my appreciation. That man is special!”

Earlier this month while performing on Tyler’s tour in Milwaukee, Lil Yachty attempted to jump off the stage and do some crowd work – but failed to land on his feet.

After a brief moment of shock, he brushed it off and hopped back up…but he abandoned his plans to hit the crowd and bee-lined back to the stage while being escorted by security.

“Bro what the fuck! Bro I almost just died!” he said while laughing once he got back on stage. “N-gga, what the fuck! Wow!”

The crowd then broke out into a chant of “Yachty!”

In other news, Lil Yachty recently opened up about his past relationship with Mariah The Scientist, admitting that he wasn’t the best boyfriend.

Sitting down for an interview with Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast, the Atlanta rapper reflected on dating Mariah when they were both college students, although it appeared to be an uncomfortable topic for him.

“I was a shit person to her. She was really great, so great. So I get it. She was a great person, though, man,” he said while visibly squirming in his seat.

Addressing comments she made in a recent interview with Yung Miami, Yachty added: “That’s the first time she ever spoke on us, ever, publicly. I honestly think she was pretty respectful. She didn’t shit on me, you know? I know what you’re talking about, but I brought it upon myself. She ain’t tell no lies.”

Asked by Sharpe if he wanted to apologize to Mariah, Lil Boat was noncommittal: “Our relationship is such a long span, you know? Since high school, so it’s long and blurry. YOLO, bro. Shout out to her. Tons of love. And I respect her.”
