The Dare has shared his new single ‘LCA’ from the deluxe version of of his debut album ‘What’s Wrong With New York?‘.

The industrial electro song is one of three new tracks set to feature on ‘What’s Wrong With New York?: Afters’, his expanded debut, which is set for release on June 13 via Polydor/Republic Records.

“LCA: when the party gets too seedy, too self-destructive, and too excessive. When people get so drunk they start playing Benny Benassi through speakers already blown. Tomorrow seems very far away,” the artist – real name Harrison Patrick Smith – said of the single via a press release. You can listen to it below.

Smith released his debut album ‘What’s Wrong With New York? with New York last year September. It featured a host of guest collaborations, including appearances from the likes of Dylan Brady, Emile Haynie, Romil Hemnani, Chris Greatti, Isaac Eiger and more.

At the time NME awarded the album three stars and said: “The 20-something New Yorker wants to party like it’s 2006. The result is often well-observed but not particularly satisfying.”

He recently embarked on a UK and European tour where he took a hard fall while attempting to crowdsurf during a concert at the Marble Factory in Bristol.

At the end of the show, while performing ‘Girls’, Smith walked over to the barricade and without warning dove into the audience.

Unprepared, the audience – who video footage depicted as mostly women – immediately dropped the musician and stood around shocked but also laughing at what had happened. The Dare kept the show going though, as he continued singing while making a quick recovery to sit on the barricade.

Later in the year, The Dare is due to return to Europe, where he’s be performing at LIDO Festival for Charli XCX’s curated line-up in June, and then at Reading and Leeds in August.
