SZA has made a guest appearance on Sesame Street, where she performed a song about gratitude with Elmo. Watch below.

The Grammy-winning ‘SOS’ singer featured on yesterday’s episode of the US educational children’s TV show (April 10). In the sketch, she is seen putting a picture she has drawn into her gratitude jar.

Elmo, who is joined by his Muppet friends Abby and Gabrielle, asks: “What is Miss SZA doing?” The star responds by explaining: “A gratitude jar is a place where you can put words or pictures of things you’re grateful for.

“Sometimes when you feel sad or have other really big feelings, it can be easy to forget the things that we’re thankful for. So the jar helps us to remember.”

SZA then begins a wholesome performance of a sweet song about self-love and showing kindness to others.

Be kind to me, be kind to you/ Being kind is how I show my gratitude,” she sings alongside the Muppets. “Kindness can change the way you feel/ Gratitude’s the right attitude.”

SZA’s guest appearance on Sesame Street was announced in January. It was also confirmed at the time that the likes of Noah KahanChris StapletonMichael B. Jordan and Reneé Rapp would be starring in the current 55th season.

This came shortly after SZA teased the possibility of releasing two albums of “peaceful children’s music” to complete her current contractual requirements.

Last December she released ‘Lana’, which serves as a deluxe version of her 2022 second LP ‘SOS’. In a four-star reviewNME said that “‘Lana’ heralds SZA’s status as a pop girl” but said the project “might have been stronger as a mixtape”.

Meanwhile, SZA is set to embark on a North American joint tour with Kendrick Lamar this month, dubbed ‘Grand National’. The pair will then head to the UK and Europe this summer, with this stint including two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Find any remaining tickets here (UK) and here (North America).

SZA appears on Lamar’s latest album, ‘GNX’, and joined the rapper on stage at his huge Super Bowl Halftime Show in February.
