Music : BTS insist they are 'not involved in any capacity' with Michael Jackson tribute album

Newsdesk August 05, 2025

BTS have insisted that they are "not involved in any capacity" with the Michael Jackson tribute album.

The seven-piece K-pop boy band have denied any involvement in an upcoming Michael Jackson tribute album.

Over the weekend, The Irish Sun on Sunday reported that Grouse Lodge Studios, a music studio based in Ireland, was planning to record songs originally written for Jackson.

The Smooth Criminal hitmaker allegedly spent time recording at the studio back in 2006, collaborating with artists including Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am on unreleased music.

According to the outlet, the studio plans to revive these tracks, and boss Paddy Dunning has claimed that BTS has signed up to be part of the project.

"The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs," he stated.

However, on Tuesday, BTS took to X to share a statement denying their involvement in the project.

"We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS' alleged participation in a Michael Jackson tribute album," the band began.

"BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project," they continued. "The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity."

BTS added that they are taking "appropriate measures" to "prevent the spread of inaccurate information".

The group, featuring RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, recently announced their plans to return to the spotlight in 2026 after completing their military service.

In a statement released earlier this year, the boy band confirmed that they will release new music next spring.
