As many fans expected, Justin Bieber has more to share about married life on Swag II, the follow-up to July’s Swag. While his previous project was honest about the challenges that come with nearly six years of marriage and raising a child, this new release takes on a much more romantic tone.
Right from the beginning, Bieber makes it clear that his heart belongs to his wife, model and Rhode founder Hailey. Songs such as “Better Man” read almost like wedding vows, with Bieber promising kindness and devotion. On “Love Song,” he talks about wanting to write one she “can’t stop singing.” Another track, “I Do,” has him declaring, “never loved you more than I do right now.”
Other songs, including “Eye Candy” and “Bad Honey,” reveal a more passionate side of Bieber’s love for Hailey. She even shared her excitement for “Bad Honey” on Instagram. In the second verse, Bieber croons, “I might just go give you my loving, uh/I might give you a piece of my mind, uh/I might just go ’head, do somethin’/Baby girl, you’re makin’ me, makin’ me sing.” Later in “All the Way,” he praises her beauty by calling her face the eighth wonder of the world.
Even Bieber’s touching tribute to his son Jack Blues circles back to celebrating Hailey. In “Mother in You,” he recalls witnessing his son open his eyes for the very first time. “And I remember the moment, at 2 in the morning/A sober reflection in you/And you looked right through me like you really knew me/So much of her coming through,” he sings in the heartfelt track.
Swag II was unveiled just 12 hours before its official release. Billboards and large promotional displays that revealed his arrival featured black-and-white photos of Bieber with Hailey and Jack, echoing the visual style of his earlier Swag campaign. The album includes collaborations with Tems, Hurricane Chris, and Bakar, along with guest appearances by Lil B and Eddie Benjamin.
