Miley Cyrus has shared a new update on Dolly Parton’s health.

This comes after Dolly, 79, postponed her Las Vegas residency in September, explaining to fans that her doctors told her she “must have a few procedures” done.

“As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she said at the time.

She continued, “In all seriousness, because of this, I will not be able to rehearse or create the show I want you to experience, and the show that you deserve to see.”

Fans grew more worried when Dolly’s sister, Freida Parton, wrote on Facebook that she was “up all night praying” for the “9 to 5” singer.

Miley has now reassured everyone that Dolly has no intention of slowing down. “She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Miley told Entertainment Tonight. “The show must go on,” she added. “She’s just excited to get back to work.”

Dolly is Miley’s godmother, and the two are extremely close. Miley has previously said the country legend “has been like a mother to me,” explaining that “Dolly is not only my idol because of her incomparable career, she’s also my role model because of her steadfast morals and values.”

She added, “She’s even better than your sparkliest dreams. She may be my fairy godmother, but I think she’s that to everyone else too. I am happy to share her with the world.”

In July, Dolly revealed she was pausing her music plans after the death of her husband of nearly sixty years, Carl Dean, who was 82.

“I can’t do it right now ’cause I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now,” she told fans. But she made it clear she was only stepping back temporarily, not retiring.

“I’ll write something else if it comes. I’m just putting that all on hold,” she said.
