Olivia Dean secures the first Official Number 1 album of 2026 as The Art of Loving climbs to the top of the chart.
This marks the third occasion the record has led the Official Albums Chart, and following a year in which Olivia’s profile truly took off, the achievement feels like a strong indicator of what 2026 could hold for the British artist.
The Art of Loving also claims the top spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, selling the most vinyl copies across the past week. Sabrina Carpenter lands at Number 2 with Man’s Best Friend following the release of its Bonus Track Version. She also sees Short n’ Sweet return to the Top 10, climbing five places to Number 6.
The record breaking and Official biggest album of 2025, The Life of a Showgirl, holds steady at Number 3. Elsewhere, Taylor Swift places three previous releases inside the Top 40, with THE TORTURED POET’S DEPARTMENT at Number 28, Midnights at Number 34 and Lover appearing at Number 36.
Fleetwood Mac continue their chart resurgence as 50 Years – Don’t Stop matches its highest ever position, rising two places to Number 4.
Billie Eilish sees her former Number 1 HIT ME HARD AND SOFT climb back into the Top 20 for the first time since August 2025, reappearing at Number 20.
There is notable movement elsewhere for Olivia Rodrigo, with GUTS jumping 12 places to Number 22 and SOUR rising eight to Number 25. At the same time, George Michael sees Twenty Five move up nine places to Number 27.
Further gains are also logged by Queen, with Greatest Hits climbing ten spots to Number 30, while Charli xcx advances eight places to Number 31 with BRAT.
A number of catalogue favourites also feature in this week’s Top 40, including Drake with Take Care at Number 35, Ariana Grande with eternal sunshine at Number 38, Maroon 5 with Singles at Number 39 and Billy Joel closing out the chart at Number 40 with Piano Man: The Very Best of Billy Joel.
