DJ Akademiks publicly came to Rod Wave’s defense while laying out his ongoing issues with Lil Baby. Ak has been openly criticizing Baby across social media since Sunday night, accusing the rapper of having someone from his team physically confront him in Miami. During a recent livestream, Akademiks also alleged that Baby previously reached out to Rod Wave to complain about the two working together.

“Let me tell you what happened. I went to Houston and did some fly sht with Rod Wave, and Lil Baby was hating. He called Rod Wave and said, 'Wave, why you doing something with that btch ass n**a Akademiks?" Akademiks claimed. From there, he said that Wave defended him while trying to remain neutral. He recalled: "Instead of saying, 'Oh, fck Ak. I love you Lil Baby, you gave me a feature. He said, 'I value Ak and I fck with you. Let me get y'all on the phone.'"

DJ Akademiks and Lil Baby have had tension between them for several years now. Baby previously took shots at Akademiks on tracks like “Top Priority” and “From Now On,” both featured on his 2022 album, It’s Only Me. Since then, the two have continued to trade jabs and insults across various social platforms.

In another clip shared on Sunday, Ak said he would not shy away from a physical confrontation with Baby. "Don’t get on the phone with Rod Wave. I’ll squabble up with you, na, anywhere, anytime," he said. "You ducked and then had your pssy ass assistant-- I'll scquabble with you any time. You’re scrawny as fck. You're a drug addict, stupid as fck. 've been on that. You DM me, 'Where you at?' I DM you where I'm gonna be at. You never showed up, and you said I was trolling. I will wash you anywhere. I'm gonna make this loud. You gotta respond to this. You're gonna either be pssy or you're gonna stand on it and say, 'I did backdoor that pssy ass n*a. He thought we was cool.'"
