Harry Styles has opened up about why he has chosen to perform residency shows across six cities instead of launching a traditional world tour.

Styles is preparing to begin his ‘Together Together’ tour, which will take place across six major cities. The run includes twelve nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, 30 shows at New York’s MSG, along with concerts scheduled in Mexico City, São Paulo, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Sydney. You can get tickets for the Wembley shows here and MSG tickets here.

The live dates are tied to the release of his upcoming album ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’, which arrives tomorrow on March 6.

Speaking recently about the decision, Styles explained why he prefers doing residencies instead of a worldwide tour. During a conversation with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the former One Direction singer shared: “I think it makes the show better. I think you can build something that doesn’t have to travel every night.

He went on to explain that the residency format also helps him maintain a more balanced routine. “allow me to stay in my life while I’m doing it. And therefore I think it allows me to take care of myself better, which I think makes me better at doing the thing.”

Styles also made it clear that he has not ruled out touring the world again in the future. “It’s not like I’m saying I’ll never travel again, but I want to see what it looks like if you do it a different way – and people in my band have families now and kids, and some aspects of that too. It’s really important to me that they’re on the road, that I would love to have them. I don’t want to make it near impossible for them to be able to come do that with me.”
