Megan Thee Stallion recently made a life changing decision for a rescue dog after learning the animal was only hours away from being put down.
In a clip shared on Instagram Friday (March 27), the rapper introduced fans to her newest pet and explained that she had adopted him from the Animal Care Centers of NYC. She admitted she had only recently learned these types of shelters existed. “I was yesterday years old when I found out that there’s a such thing as a kill shelter, and they are putting down dogs when they can not find them a home,” she told followers.
“That is insane. They were going to put him down yesterday,” Meg continued, clearly surprised. “And I said, ‘No, wait. Just give him to me. I’ll take him.’”
The rap superstar already shares her home with her French bulldog Foe, and she joked in the video, “I don’t know how Foe is going to feel about this.” Still, she seems excited about her expanding group of pets, which also includes Maine Coon cat 9 and another dog named Dos. “Meet my new rescue son TYGER,” she wrote alongside the video.
This news arrives shortly after Meg stepped onto a Broadway stage for the first time in Moulin Rouge!, where she made history as the first female performer to take on the traditionally male role of Zidler. On Tuesday (March 24), she uploaded a video capturing her first curtain call and shared, “So grateful for this incredible cast & crew & everyone who worked so hard to make opening night a success!! HOTTIES IM ON BROADWAY!!”
The Houston Hottie has not released a full album since 2024, when Megan reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. In the past year, she has released songs including “Whenever” and “Lover Girl,” with “Lover Girl” breaking into the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
