Icelandic singer Laufey has set social media buzzing among fans after teasing what appears to be a possible collaboration with Blackpink’s Rosé in a recent Instagram post.
The 27 year old artist shared a series of photos on her social media accounts documenting her visit to Seoul, South Korea, following her performance there earlier this month (Jun26) as part of her A Matter of Time Tour.
She captioned the photo dump: “Seoul searching”.
Although many of the pictures featured Laufey sightseeing and enjoying tourist activities around the city, it was one image showing her alongside Rosé that drew the most attention.
The two were pictured seated at a table with serious expressions as they prepared to eat a large bowl of fruit.
Fans immediately flooded the comments section reacting to the image and began speculating that a collaboration between them could be coming soon.
One wrote: “Laufey and Rosé collab when??”
Another added: “LAUFEY AND ROSÉ TOGETHER? I’M SCREAMING. MY TWO FAVS!!!!”
A third commented: “Now I need a Laufey and Rosé collab song to go, thanks!”
While someone else joked: “TWO ARTISTS WHO INSPIRE ME ARE TOGETHER? fine, I’ll continue that abandoned song I wrote.”
Another added: “LAUFEY AND ROSÉ!! OMG YES.”
As someone else gushed: “It's like I'm dreaming. They look so cute and adorable!”
With another writing: “OMGGGG YES I'VE BEEN DREAMING FOR THIS!”
Laufey first started her music journey at age 15, performing as a cello soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
She also took part in two televised music competitions, Ísland Got Talent in 2014 where she reached the finals, and The Voice Island the following year where she advanced to the semi finals.
Laufey later earned a presidential scholarship to study at the Berklee College of Music and completed her degree in 2021, after which she moved into a full time music career.
She put out her debut EP, Typical of Me, in April 2021 and later signed with Warner Chappell Music, releasing her first studio album under the label, Bewitched, in September 2023.
The album, which received strong critical praise, also brought Laufey her first Grammy Award in 2023.
Laufey released her third album, A Matter of Time, in 2025 and launched a global tour in support of the project.
Meanwhile, Rosé is widely regarded as the most prominent member of K pop girl group Blackpink.
Alongside her group work, she collaborated with Bruno Mars on the track APT., which went on to become a major international hit.
The new record marks the DJ and producer's eighth full-length effort.
