Global girl group KATSEYE have landed the highest new entry on this week’s UK Official Singles Chart, with "Hootie Frutti" opening at Number 16. The single arrives alongside the group’s latest chart achievement, with their new EP, WILD, reaching a career-best Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart.
The result makes KATSEYE, made up of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung, the first girl group since Little Mix in 2021 to place five singles inside the UK Top 40 during the same calendar year. Their 2026 run includes "Internet Girl" at Number 24 in January, "PINKY UP" at Number 14 in April, "ICONIC BY MISTAKE" featuring LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT at Number 22 in June, as well as their latest tracks "Animal" and "Hootie Frutti."
At the same time, "Animal" moved up four spots to Number 12, giving KATSEYE their highest position on the UK Singles Chart so far. The group’s latest achievements come just before the UK dates of THE WILDWORLD TOUR, with shows scheduled at London’s The O2 on September 3 and 4 before they head to Manchester’s Co-op Live on September 6.
Sam Fender and Olivia Dean continued to lead the chart with their collaboration "Rein Me In," holding onto Number 1 and extending its record as the longest-running UK Number 1 single of all time to 22 non-consecutive weeks.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, STELLA LEFTY reached a fresh career high at Number 5 with breakout track "Boston," arriving alongside her debut album Long Way Home. Sheffield producer Silva Bumpa also achieved a personal best, climbing to Number 9 with "On 2nite."
Tame Impala’s "Loser" rose to Number 11 following its appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while Steve Lacy’s "oh yeah?" moved into the Top 20 at Number 18. Phoebe Bridgers also scored her best-ever UK singles position after reaching Number 1 with her solo album Lost Weekend, with the album’s title track debuting at Number 39.
