News : Jack Antonoff breaks his silence on Margaret Qualley breakup

Jack Antonoff addressed his separation from wife Margaret Qualley for the first time during a recent live performance.

The Bleachers singer made a lighthearted reference to his breakup with The Substance actress after a fan requested their 2017 track ‘Let’s Get Married’ at Tuesday night’s concert at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.

“Absolutely not,” he answered while laughing, before joking: “Read the news, brother.”

After the fans revealed that the track was their wedding song, he responded: “I love that song and I wrote it, like, 11 years ago.”

Antonoff and Qualley began dating in 2021 before getting married in New Jersey in 2023.

Speculation about their relationship began in early July, following three years of marriage, when Qualley did not join Antonoff at the wedding of his close friend Taylor Swift. The Leftovers actress added to the rumours after removing photographs from their 2023 wedding from her Instagram account.

Later in July, a spokesperson for Qualley confirmed their separation to E! News and dismissed claims surrounding the breakup as “categorically untrue”.

“There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship,” the representative said, adding that the former couple “have deep love and care for one another”.

“There are only two people in this marriage,” the statement continued, “and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
