After suffering delays for four years following his contract dispute with Birdman, Lil Wayne released Tha Carter V to fans in late 2018. However, the album that arrived was a more streaming era-friendly version compared to the one Wayne teased when he originally planned to release in 2014. With that being said, it looks like we’ll finally get the OG version of the album.

Set to arrive on the rapper’s 38t birthday this Friday, Wayne’s longtime producer Mack Maine took to Instagram to reveal that the original version of Tha Carter V will be released at the end of the week on September 25. In addition to the announcement, Mack previewed two of the songs from the album, “Life of Mr. Carter” and “Scottie.”

If you need a refresher for what original Tha Carter V may have looked like, you can check out one of the project’s OG tracklists as well as Mack Maine’s announcement below.
