News : Playboi Carti Arrested on Felony Charge Over Choking Pregnant Girlfriend

Playboi Carti was arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend, reports TMZ. It happened over an argument about a paternity test.

According to the arrest affidavit, the woman told the authorities that the rapper grabbed her by her throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she could barely breathe. She told the cops that she thought she was going to die from it.

The woman told the police that she’s been in a relationship with the rapper for two years and living with him since July 2022. This incident in question took place on Dec. 20th, 2022.

According to the publication, the woman told the cops that a conversation about a paternity test led to an argument which then became violent. A witness apparently jumped in to try and break up the fight, and when she was able to escape Carti’s grasp, she ran to her car. She claims he attacked her again at that point. When cops arrived at the scene, police say the woman had visible injuries to her neck, chest and back.

Carti was arrested for felony aggravated assault. “Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation,” his lawyers told TMZ.
