Method Man has confirmed that he has a feature on Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre‘s highly anticipated Missionary album.
In a live interview with Drink Champs at REVOLT WORLD in Atlanta, the Wu-Tang Clan legend revealed that he will be making an appearance on the project.
After being asked about his dream collaboration would be with one other artist and one producer, Meth said: “I already did something with these guys but I’m gonna use it again: Snoop and Dre.”
He continued: “Every time I work with Dre, I feel like I need a do-over. The first time I was in the studio with him physically there, that chronic [hits] different. I spit a verse but it wasn’t up to par for me, so Dre was gracious enough not to put it out.
“The second shot I got is for the Dre and Snoop joint coming up. Woo! He got a lot of fire shit on there, man.”
The Tical MC was still self-critical of his performance on the album, adding: “And still, I feel like I could have done a little bit more, but I’m always gonna feel that way.”
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight earlier this year, he said: “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with [Snoop’s] lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career […] I’m not playing.”
He added: “The musicians I’m working with right now and some of the writers in the studio that are helping us… Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are gonna really enjoy this.”
The legendary producer also let slip that rock legend Sting will appear on the star-studded album, as well as possibly himself.
“I actually did a couple of songs, I’m not sure if one of them’s gonna make it or not. I produced the entire album but vocally, I think, only one of them is gonna make it,” he shared.
“There’s a song, we have Sting on the song. Man, it’s an amazing roster of artists that’s on this album. I shouldn’t have revealed that, to be honest.”
A release date for Missionary has yet to be announced, but a November arrival has been teased.
