Bloc Party and Metric have announced details of a joint US tour, kicking off later this year. Find ticket details below.

Announced today (February 11), the upcoming tour will see both bands touring together for the first time since 2006 and celebrating some impressive milestones for 2025. For Bloc Party this is the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ and, to mark the occasion, will see them perform the tracklist in full alongside some greatest hits.

For Metric, the shows will see them look back at their cult favourite album ‘Fantasies’, and will see them break out all of the tracks from the 2009 release as well as other hits from their back catalogue.

“INDIE DREAMS DO COME TRUE,” the latter shared in a new Instagram post, sharing details of the tour. “We’re bringing ‘FANTASIES’ back to life this Spring! We will be performing the album in its entirety on an extra special limited tour of 13 cities.

They continued: “We’re hitting some epic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and Forest Hills in NYC on this run alongside our pals in Bloc Party, who will be performing their iconic album SILENT ALARM. Even better—our first headlining show in Toronto since 2022 will be at Budweiser Stage on Friday, June 6, with Bloc Party and our longtime friends The Dears opening the night.”

The tour will kick off with an opening night at Just Like Heaven in Pasadena on May 10, and continue with stops at the MGM Music Hall in Boston and the Forest Hills Stadium in New York at the end of the month.

Remaining shows all take place the following month and include stops in Washington, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Saltlake City and more. The tour wraps up with shows at Berkley’s Greek Theater and Portland’s Theater Of The Clouds on June 14 and 16 respectively, before a final gig in Seattle on June 17.

All shows will see Bloc Party headline, barring the show in Toronto on June 6. Tickets go on sale this Friday (February 14) at 10am local time, and pre-sale options will commence from tomorrow (12). Visit here to buy tickets and check below for a list of all new tour dates.

The news that Bloc Party will be celebrating ‘Silent Alarm’s 20th anniversary comes after news broke last year that the band would be playing the tracklist in full while at the 2025 edition of Live At Leeds.

They also did the same while at a special anniversary show in London last summer. Held at Crystal Palace Park on July 7, the gig marked their biggest headline show to date – performing to a 25,000-strong crowd for two hours.

Bloc Party’s last release was 2022’s ‘Alpha Games‘. In a three-star review of the albumNME shared: “‘Alpha Games’ sees Bloc Party still championing the ’00s scene that they came up in, but there’s not a hint of nostalgia in sight. With a renewed vigour and the desire to keep things moving, this sixth album could soundtrack a new generation of indie discos.”

In the time since that LP, Gordon Moakes – the former bassist of Bloc Party – formed a new band, The None, and announced their new EP ‘Care’. Frontman Kele Okereke announced a new solo album ‘The Singing Winds Pt. 3’ and shared the lead single ‘It Wasn’t Meant To Be’.

As for Metric, back in 2023 the group shared their most recent record, ‘Formentera II’, which contained singles ‘Nothing Is Perfect’, ‘Who Would You Be For Me’ and ‘Just This Once‘.

They also spoke to NME about how the record related to its predecessor ‘Formentera’, with Emily Haines saying: “The 18 songs were all created in the same moment, which was 2020 to 2023. And we found ourselves stepping back in 2022, looking at this body of work and trying to establish the best way to release it.

“It didn’t feel like the right thing to do to release it all at once and it also didn’t feel like much fun to tell everyone that there was another one coming. So we opted for the surprise of announcing it on the one-year anniversary of the first album.”
