News : Travis Scott wants to collaborate with Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift: “I have some ill ideas”

Travis Scott has revealed that he hopes to organise collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift.

The rapper opened up about his plans for the future during a new interview with Billboard, and revealed the three artists that he would most love to join forces with next.

It comes after the ‘Sicko Mode’ hitmaker teamed up with an impressive number of names on his latest album ‘Utopia’, which saw collaborations with the likes of Beyoncé, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, SZA, Future, Bad Bunny and Drake.

When asked about who he has been looking at for future pairings, he told the outlet that the first one that came to mind was Houston-based group Khruangbin, who dropped their fourth studio album ‘A La Sala’ last year.

He also named two of the biggest names in the pop world at the moment, saying: “This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook.” He also shared that he has already envisioned how the finished material could sound, adding: “I have some ill ideas”.

During the discussion, Scott also quashed any rumours of bad blood between him and the ‘Espresso’ singer, as it was shared that her hit summer album ‘Short N’ Sweet’ had surpassed the 10th-anniversary edition of his ‘Days Before Rodeo’ mixtape in the charts.

“Charts, shmarts, man. Who measures that? Her album’s cool. ‘Days Before Rodeo’ is 10 years old. It all works,” he said, before going on to recall the one thing he wishes he could change about his 2015 release.

“I got a lot [of special memories from that time]. ‘Rodeo’ is lit… The only thing I wish from that album, and I probably should do for the 10-year anniversary, is that the action figure would come out on a USB and not a CD. That’s the main thing and it never happened.

“That album creation was everything for me: touring, working on the album and being at Mike Dean’s crib all day. Rest in peace, Meeboob [Dean’s late dog]. Man, we love that dog. It was lit, man.”

Later, the rapper gave an update on new material, and recalled how he thinks it reflects a different time in his life to that of ‘Utopia’.

“I feel like for ‘Utopia’, I was striving to push things to a high level. I’m still reaching for that,” he said. “I’ve been having so much fun with music and shit, that I think it’s cool to be artistic and have fun with it.”

Details about the forthcoming release, including the title, release date and potential collaborations, all remain unknown for now.
