Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has shared details of his first solo album, marking a new chapter in his career outside the band.

The Under The Bridge musician, who put out his debut solo single A Plea last month, will release the 10 song album Honora on March 27. He has also announced a run of live shows across North America, Europe and the UK.

On the record, Flea performs on bass and trumpet and has brought together what he describes as an elite group of contemporary jazz innovators, with guest vocal appearances from Nick Cave and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.

The core lineup behind Honora includes producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, drummer Deantoni Parks, guitarist Jeff Parker and bassist Anna Butterss.

Additional contributors include Mauro Refosco, known for his work with David Byrne and Atoms For Peace, alongside Bright Eyes member Nate Walcott.

The album features six original pieces, as well as reimagined versions of songs by artists including Frank Ocean, Jimmy Webb and George Clinton.

Flea also unveiled a new track titled Traffic Lights on Wednesday January 14 2026, which he co wrote with Johnson and Yorke.

Talking about the song, he said: “Deantoni and I started playing what later became Traffic Lights on the very first day. It brought Atoms For Peace to mind, so I decided to send it over to Thom.

“Knowing him the way I do, I felt the rhythm and feel would connect with him. And it turns out I was right, it really did.

“It has this beautiful tune and lyrics that touch on living in an upside down world and trying to understand things when you are surrounded by so much that feels fake and real at the same time.

“Everyone finds their own way of coping with life. He is just such a warm, open and free jamming presence.”

Flea will begin a small scale tour in support of the album on May 7, opening with six shows across North America.

After that, he will take the tour to Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Paris, with tickets for all dates going on general sale at 10am local time on January 23.
