Apparently, the perfect roast needs more than just jokes — it also needs a flute performance.

With flute in hand and backed by a “Krew of Kevins,” Lizzo made an unexpected entrance during The Roast of Kevin Hart, which closed out Netflix Is A Joke Fest on Sunday (May 10). The singer marched onto the stage alongside a group of little people dressed as different Kevin Hart characters. While playing her flute to Too Short’s “Blow the Whistle,” Lizzo danced and twerked as the mini Kevins joined in around her.

“C’mon, f— it up, Kevin,” Lizzo shouted while one of the “Kevins,” dressed in a chicken costume, started breakdancing as the real Kevin Hart watched in complete disbelief. “Go Kevin! Go Little Kevin!”

After setting her flute aside, the “Rumors” artist stepped up to the podium to deliver her jokes aimed at the comedian. Lizzo focused on one topic the two stars have often faced publicly.

“Kevin and I are both mocked for our size,” Lizzo said. “We share that pain. But I can lose weight, you can’t get taller n—,” she added while pointing at Hart and laughing.

Lizzo was not the only music star to join the roast. Usher opened the event with a parody version of his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Burn,” changing the lyrics to poke fun at Hart throughout the performance.

“Tell me why I should stay in this fake friendship/ ‘Cause we ain’t laughin’, Kevin/ It keeps happenin’, Kevin/ Plus, you’re probably somewhere filming some bulls–t/,” Usher sang while Hart interrupted him asking, “what the f— [he was] doing.”

Fresh off receiving the Visionary Award at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony, Teyana Taylor also took her turn roasting Hart onstage. “See, I feel like roasting you is kind of beneath me,” Taylor joked. “I know it’s kind of a foreign thing, a foreign concept, because there is literally nothing that is beneath you.”

Taylor continued leaning into the height jokes while comparing their recent careers. “I would never say something so hateful like, ‘I starred in One Battle After Another, while Kevin’s career has been one bomb after another.’”
