Cardi B says motherhood has not changed her fashion sense one bit, although her 7 year old daughter Kulture apparently spends plenty of time borrowing from her closet.
During an interview with E! News published Wednesday, May 20, the rapper was asked whether becoming a mother has affected the way she approaches fashion. Cardi answered in classic Cardi fashion. “It hasn’t,” she said. “F–k that, they haven’t changed me for s–t!”
“I like dressing up, I like looking good,” the Grammy winning artist continued. “When you feel good about yourself, it makes you want to work, go outside and actually do things.”
Still, Cardi admitted there are a few limits when it comes to balancing motherhood and style. “I’m not gonna pull up to my daughter’s school in a see through shirt or something where my nipples are rock hard,” she told the outlet.
The interview arrives as Cardi launches her new partnership with Fashionphile. In the campaign commercial for the resale platform, she jokes that the service is ideal for anyone who has “got bags, jewelry and watches just sitting, like the ones from certain exes.”
One person Cardi says definitely cannot borrow her luxury accessories anytime soon is Kulture. According to the rapper, her daughter already spends enough time inside her closet. “Oh my god. This girl is always in my closet,” Cardi shared with E! News. “I’m about sick of it, but she already knows the rules. My clothes, whatever. My shoes, whatever. But don’t touch Mommy’s purses. You already wrote on one of them.”
Cardi’s latest business move comes about a month after she completed her Little Miss Drama Tour, which reportedly earned more than $70 million while selling 453,000 tickets, according to figures submitted to Billboard Boxscore. The tour supported her long awaited sophomore album Am I the Drama?, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October.
