Ryan Gosling's band Dead Man's Bones is preparing to return with new music after a 17 year break.
The rock duo, made up of Gosling and Zach Shields, shared a teaser on Instagram on Thursday, hinting that fresh material will arrive on October 27.
The video features a man's face emerging inside a swirling spiral as he delivers an eerie message.
"Dead man's bones must wait to rise, from the house where shadows cry. All of this must change, when our ghosts must leave our world for this, to dance with us at twilight time, and bring your hand to lie in mine," he says before breaking into a sinister laugh.
The words "new music" then appear on screen, followed by a young girl's voice, possibly belonging to one of Gosling's two daughters, shouting "October 27".
Dead Man's Bones first emerged in the late 2000s, releasing music inspired by ghosts and monsters. The duo put out their self titled debut album in 2009, working alongside a children's choir, but have not released another record since.
Gosling's partner, Eva Mendes, had already hinted at the band's return earlier that day with a social media post reading: "Trying to summon new music from DEAD MAN'S BONES. I can feel it in the air...."
She later reposted the announcement video and wrote: "He came through on his promise to me (black heart) @deadmansbonesmusic."
While the band has been on hiatus, the Project Hail Mary star has continued to show off his musical talents through his acting work, including performances in La La Land and Barbie. He also took to the stage at the 2024 Oscars to perform I'm Just Ken, one of the biggest musical moments from Barbie.
Gosling and Mendes have been together since 2011 and have two daughters, Esmeralda, 12, and Amada, 10.
