News : Diplo Set Up His Gear at a ‘Random Park’ & Played New Music

Why wait for a tour or scheduled performance to play some new music? Diplo decided on Tuesday (Feb. 8) that, instead, he would make his own rave at a park.

The DJ shared a video to TikTok and Twitter, in which he’s seen spinning records, writing, “I popped up at a random park to play new music just for fun.” The one-minute clip then shows his team bringing speakers, generators and all the necessary equipment into Los Angeles’ Elysian Park, before he shared his location to his Instagram followers and started playing a new song, titled “Don’t Forget My Love,” at his outdoor DJ booth.

By sundown, the park was filled with fans, who expressed their excitement over Diplo’s impromptu performance. “F— what I’m doing, I’m stopping everything and I drove up here,” one fan is seen telling the cameraman.

“Can’t wait for the next one,” Diplo captioned the video on Twitter.

Throughout the first few months of the coronavirus pandemic, Diplo didn’t stop his musical hustle, live-streaming DJ sets from his living room.

“You guys want me to do this every night,” he asked the internet at the and of one of his 95-minute sest. “Like and subscribe, wash your hands and stay 6 feet away from your friends.”
