The race for Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart is getting more intense, with Jack Savoretti currently out in front as he pushes for his third chart topping album. His ninth studio release, We Will Always Be The Way We Were, is off to a strong start as it looks to build on the success of his previous Number 1 records Singing to Strangers from 2019 and Europiana from 2021. If he stays ahead, the singer songwriter will land an impressive run of three consecutive UK Number 1 albums.

Stiff Competition from Rising Stars

Still, Savoretti’s lead is not locked in. He is being closely chased by Nottingham artist Holly Humberstone, whose second album Cruel World is currently sitting at Number 2. After earning strong praise for her 2023 debut, Humberstone is now aiming for her first Number 1, and a late push in the week could see her take over the top spot.

Just behind them is Texas rising talent Ella Langley, with her second album Dandelion holding at Number 3. Langley’s growing momentum is supported by her recent success on the Singles Chart, as her track "Choosin’ Texas" entered the Top 20 for the first time last week, showing her appeal is continuing to grow on both sides of the Atlantic.

Top 10 Shuffles and New Entries

Midweek figures also point to a strong return for Icelandic artist Laufey. Her album A Matter of Time, which originally reached Number 3 last September, is set to climb back into the Top 10 at Number 7 thanks to the release of its deluxe version titled ‘The Final Hour’.

At the same time, Alfie Boe is aiming for his seventh solo Top 10, and thirteenth overall, with Face Myself currently at Number 9. Elsewhere on the chart:

Bring Me The Horizon are expected to enter at Number 12 with their live project L.I.V.E. In São Paulo.

Enter Shikari are on track to secure their ninth Top 20 placement with surprise release Lose Your Self at Number 13.

Lime Garden are set to earn their first chart appearance with Maybe Not Tonight at Number 18.

Finally, Frank Turner is looking to reach a major milestone, as his compilation Campfire Punkrock 20 sits at Number 31, putting him in line for his tenth Top 40 album.

The official chart results will be confirmed this Friday on the Official Albums Chart.
