Gary Barlow has spoken honestly about the emotional low he has experienced since Take That’s The Circus Live tour finished, saying he feels as though he has “fallen off a cliff” in the weeks after the closing performance.

The 55 year old singer posted a personal video on Instagram and told followers that the usual feelings following a tour have been much more difficult this time. The revived production ended at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on July 4, and the experience appears to have affected him more deeply than he expected.

He said: “Hey everybody, GB here. I’ve been trying to make this video for a few weeks, and it’s not been easy.

“I must say that this tour has thrown me slightly. Whenever we come off tour, it always feels a little bit of an anti-climax… but for some reason, it just feels like I’ve completely fallen off a cliff since the end of the shows.”

Gary explained that he eventually pushed himself to film the update because he wanted to connect with fans who may also be finding the end of the tour difficult. He acknowledged that finishing a run feels increasingly emotional each year, particularly as the performances continue to hold greater meaning for him.

He said: “I am always sad at the end of the tour and particularly this one.

“I just thought it was absolutely joyous, the whole thing, and I’m fully aware of how much everybody enjoyed it.”

His comments come after he recently confirmed that The Circus will not be staged for a third time. Gary explained that the demanding production, featuring fire breathers, stilt walkers and a huge 30 foot mechanical elephant, has become too challenging for him to manage at 55.

He told fans: “I got to run away with The Circus twice.

“Now I’m running towards our next exciting, brand-new show.”
