Following the release of his sophomore album Superghetto, Buddy has been a bit busy in Hollywood: alongside contributing to the soundtrack of the 2023 remake of House Party, he also has a recurring role as Peanut on Issa Rae’s HBO Max series Rap Sh!t (currently in its second season). He hasn’t totally forgotten his musical roots, however.
Now independent, Buddy returned with his latest single “You 2 Thank.” The uptempo and uplifting track was preceded by “Free My Mind,” which is a bit more introspective than “You 2 Thank.” Hopefully this means that the third album is on the way sooner than later?
